This sunday, an osprey was photographed in the Basque Country (see pictures). It was equipped with a tracking device and ringed. The superb pictures enable an easy reading of the ring and to trace the bird back: it is a female, hatched on May 29th 2009 in Loch Garten (Scotland) from an egg laid on April 19th, ringed and equipped on July 6th. After having stayed on the site to the great pity of its numerous fans (see the blog below), Mallachie has left Loch Garten on August 29th and crossed the Channel on September 4th. And here she is!
Faune-Aquitaine (FA) has been running for the last year or so, and already attracted more than 200,000 records. Because our beautiful region attracts many foreign visitors, we now propose an English (and a Spanish) version for their convenience. Enjoy yourselves and thank you for your help!
If you encounter any problem, or a wrong translation, or any inappropriately word, please let us know (admin@fauneaquitaine.org) so that we improve our site as soon as possible. Thanks.
